Christopher Coller, D.O.
Dr. Christopher Coller is a board certified Osteopathic family physician who, as the son of an Osteopathic physician, has had a lifelong interest in alternative and functional medicine. In fact, during his undergraduate years, Dr. Coller was employed at the Born Clinic as a medical assistant! That experience not only shaped his future as a physician, but has also given him a unique familiarity with the staff, patients, and philosophy of the Born Clinic. Thus, after 12 years of training and experience, Dr. Coller was a natural addition to the Born Clinic team, and in January, 2014 he returned as a full time physician.
Dr. Coller’s formal medical training began at Grand Valley State University where he earned his BS in Biomedical Sciences. He then went to Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine for his doctorate in Osteopathic medicine. Finally, he returned to West Michigan for his family medicine residency at Metro Health Hospital in Byron Center. After completing his formal training, he gained diverse medical experience seeing patients in a variety of settings: in urgent care centers, in their homes as a home health assessment physician and also in the office as an integrative family doctor.
Dr. Coller’s Christian faith is of primary importance to him as it has shaped his worldview as well as his practice as a physician. He has been privileged to serve in a variety of ministry settings both locally and abroad and aims to continue to make ministry a primary focus of his life. Furthermore, the Born Clinic’s natural approach to health easily resonates with his Christian worldview. He is passionate about getting his patients healthy and not merely doing “disease maintenance” with chronic medications.
Finally, as natives of Michigan and married in June 2013, he and his wife are blessed to be surrounded by loving family and friends and are eager to grow their own family in the Grand Rapids area.
