Tammy L. Born, D.O.
Tammy owns and operates Born Preventive Health Care Clinic, which she joined in 1987, with her husband and clinic founder, the late Grant Born, D.O. She received her undergraduate degree from Calvin College and graduated in 1986 from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Dr. Born holds board certifications in family practice as well as being certified in Clinical Heavy Metal Toxicity.
She has a special interest in the care and treatment of patients from a preventive and nutritional basis. Tammy enjoys treating people of all ages and for many problems including allergies, autoimmune conditions, gynecological problems, circulation problems, nutritional deficiencies, dermatological disorders and other chronic illnesses.
In the past twenty-six years of practice, she has been involved in the advancement of preventive medicine. Tammy continues to work diligently to promote public awareness of patient choices in medical care.
In 1998, she was called upon to testify before the U.S. House Committee of Government Reform regarding the Freedom of Medical Access Bill.
Governor John Engler appointed Dr. Born to the Michigan Board of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in 1994, where she served as President from 1999 – 2001.
Dr. Born accepted two appointments from President G. W. Bush and Tommy Thompson, former Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services: She served on the Medicare Coverage Advisory Committee, and for four years served on the Advisory Committee on Training in Primary Care Medicine and Dentistry Health Resources and Services Administration, 2003.
