FAQs

Do I need to see a provider before receiving an IV?

Not always. Certain services, including select nutritional IV therapies and NAD+ (250 mg), are available under established clinical protocols and do not require an individual provider order for eligible patients. All patients must complete a health screening and informed consent prior to treatment. Other IV therapies require provider evaluation and an individual order.

Do I need to schedule an appointment, or can I walk in?

All IV therapy appointments must be scheduled in advance. Walk-in appointments are not available. Scheduling ahead allows time to complete required health screening paperwork prior to your visit and helps ensure your appointment proceeds safely and efficiently.

How do I choose between Wellness, Immunity, or Replenish Nutritional IVs?

Wellness IV Drip is commonly used for ongoing nutritional and immune support, particularly for individuals with chronic health stressors or increased nutrient needs.

Immunity IV Drip is often selected during periods of acute illness or increased immune demand, such as seasonal illness, travel, or stress.

Replenish IV Push is typically chosen when someone wants quick, targeted nutritional support in a shorter visit.

What is a clinical protocol?

A clinical protocol is a standardized guideline developed by medical professionals that defines eligibility, approved dosages, administration standards, and safety criteria to ensure IV therapies are delivered consistently and appropriately.

Will I still be screened before my IV?

Yes. All patients complete a health screening that reviews medical history, medications, allergies, and contraindications. If screening identifies concerns, a provider consultation may be required before proceeding.

Should I eat or drink before my IV appointment?

Yes, we recommend eating a light meal and being well hydrated prior to your IV appointment unless otherwise instructed. Proper hydration and nutrition may help reduce side effects such as lightheadedness or nausea and improve overall tolerance of the IV therapy.

Are these IVs considered medical treatment?

No. IV therapies at Born Clinic are elective wellness services and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent disease. Individual responses vary, and results are not guaranteed.

Who administers the IV therapy?

IV therapies are administered by medical professionals in accordance with established protocols and clinic policies.

Are IV therapies safe?

IV therapies are generally well tolerated when administered appropriately. As with any IV procedure, risks may include bruising, discomfort at the IV site, lightheadedness, or other side effects, which are reviewed during the consent process.

What if I have medical conditions or take prescription medications?

Some conditions or medications may limit eligibility for certain IV therapies. Full disclosure during screening is required, and a provider consultation may be recommended or required.

How often can I receive IV therapy?

Frequency varies based on the specific therapy and individual factors. General guidelines are outlined in protocols, and providers may offer personalized recommendations when appropriate.

Do IV therapy names indicate medical outcomes?

IV therapy names are used for identification and general description only and do not represent medical diagnoses, treatment of disease, or guaranteed results.

Can I receive IV therapy if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?

A provider evaluation is required prior to receiving IV therapy during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Not all therapies may be appropriate, and eligibility is determined on an individual basis.
